the ultimate find being the first pic...manolo black patent mary janes. ah, what dreams are made of!
i don't know when my obsession for shoes started. highschool? no. i couldn't care less what type of shoes i wore. i even distinctly remember wearing shoes sooo fucking old that when i took them off, my white socks would have black blemishes all over the sole. college? nah. i admit that i never let my shoes reach the point that it did in highschool, but being on an allowance never really let me be as imaginative about shoes as i wanted.
hmmm, which now brings me to when i started working. not on my first year, definitely. i even remember wearing my mom's camel pumps to my interview. i guess that was when i got exposed to the corporate world and all it's fashion sense. i am not one who fancies looking dowdy, so as days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, i slowly developed my own fashion style. of course, having my own moola helped a whole lot.
i remember the first 3-inch heels i bought. this was maybe 7 years ago, and they were the classic black leather pumps. i saw them in nine west in rustan's makati and i fell in love. it was a shoe moment, i remember. but those were my first 3-inch heels so we struggled at first. i was strutting like a chicken, but i persevered. after a month of wearing the shoes practically every other day and looking like a chicken, i managed to walk like a normal human being. aaah, the pride.
to end this madness, here's a little snippet of my conversation with schmuck.
T: hey, b, wanna buy me manolos? they're only $485.
R: no.
and that ended the conversation. talk about a little snippet.
